We've been living in Amsterdam since 2010, leaving Italy and our first watchmaking overtures behind.
The feeling was immediate. It was love at first sight for this city. The character, the design, art, items, houses, culture and people. Everything has a Dutch touch. A year later we moved to this city, and decided to start a new adventure. That's how we launched Watchme Amsterdam.
Starting a company can be a risky, uncomfortable and uneasy way of working for many people. For others, it can be fun, enriching and liberating. For us, this was perhaps the only path we had to follow, to be happy every single day.
We envisioned sharing good energy with our clients (for us, our “superstars”) and giving them the best of our service. We love seeing how a watch has become such an important part of daily life. It's not just about time, it also represents a feeling, your own personality, and sometimes even memories.
Becoming independent wasn't easy. Over the years we've been through many phases. But we believe all these phases were necessary to grow, as a company and as people.
We want to show how Dutch watch designers worked to create boundaries that elevate their own identity. We love people who choose the risky road over the safe one. That's what we're always looking for. We're not here to celebrate one identity. Life and circumstances make people different.
What we do know is that dreamers need to keep dreaming. And time, of course, is made of the same material dreams are made of. So we'll always keep going and working hard. Maybe we'll find someone who makes us believe our dreams are bigger than we think. With a smile, we'll say: “Just watch me”. (-PV)
